About me

I am a Textile Artist working from my garden studio in Long Melford, working on  Kromski rigid heddle looms. I originally trained in commercial Surface Pattern Design At Barnsley College of Art and specialised in weave and print . After many years of being away from a weaving loom I am very lucky to now own three and on them I make beautiful and unique works of art. Whether it’s hand woven and felted pictures or hand woven cushions, all my products are made using only the finest natural yarns.

My work has been recognised for four first prizes for best Craft Stall at the South Suffolk and Haldleigh show 2015 and 2016 and the Suffolk Show 2017. I sell my work at many prestige Craft events and have sold to customers from all over the world.

I come from a very creative family and have been hugely inspired by the collective thoughts, ideas and creations of those closest to me. My Paternal Grandmother was Margaret Hutchings who was a very well known toy maker. She wrote 31 books about her passion for  soft toy making and her book 'Toys from The New Testament' is dedicated to me. My sister and I were very lucky as young girls to be able to play with all her famous creations.

My Maternal Grandfather was a Filmmaker and graphic designer, he worked from a studio in Covent Garden and made adverts for companies such as Nescafe. He was awarded the Queens award to industry for his film 'Now the Wire' .

My greatest inspiration has always been my Mum Erica, she is multitalented and can seemingly turn her hand to anything and make it absolutely stunning. Venue Floristry, retail merchandising, interior design, and Garden design are just a few of her talents. She is my biggest fan, my constant source of encouragement and sometimes my helper at shows.
